During the latest edition of the iconic sporting event “Los 10.000 del Soplao”, recently held in Cantabria, the Ministry of the Interior’s AlertCops app played a key role in the special security operation coordinated by the Civil Guard.
Thousands of participants and spectators relied on this tool to communicate directly with emergency services, improve incident response, and strengthen prevention efforts in a complex and demanding natural environment.
Throughout the event, various alerts were received via AlertCops, including reports of lost individuals, minor falls, and medical needs — all of which were managed swiftly thanks to the app’s real-time geolocation system. Notifications were continuously monitored, highlighting the system’s effectiveness in reducing response times and its value as a direct and discreet communication channel for users.

Many runners activated the “Los 10.000 del Soplao” feature, allowing their routes to be monitored if needed. This functionality was especially appreciated by the event organizers and emergency teams on the ground.
The coordination between AlertCops and the event’s organizing team helped create a safer environment, where prevention and technology took center stage.
This collaboration has been recognized as a model for technological integration in large-scale sporting events, demonstrating that tools like AlertCops are essential not only in urban areas but also in natural and hard-to-reach settings.
